The challenging issue of food safety makes mainstream news headlines almost daily. Local farmers versus large-scale growers and who to trust, or not, when you buy your family’s food is an ongoing and contentious topic. Seven Reasons to “Eat Local”

Eating local foods supports our local economy. A study by the New Economics Foundation in London shows that for every dollar spent locally, two times that much is generated as income for the local economy.   (reference) Locally grown produce has more nutritional value and better taste.
