Food Waste is Enormous in the U.S.
ShareWe all throw some stuff away – it’s inevitable in our busy lifestyles. But this report from MSNBC.com makes it look like the problem is almost endemic to Americans. Here is an excerpt from the report: Hard data is still being collected, but experts at the Reuters Food and Agriculture Summit in Chicago this week said an estimated 30 percent to 50 percent of the food produced in the world goes uneaten. Special Yelm Food Cooperative Membership Request for Vote

The Yelm Cooperative Board of Directors is recommending to the membership that the Yelm Food Coop’s business operations be changed from a tax-paying commercial business to a 501.c.3 tax-exempt, non-profit community service organization.
